The Austrian Cultural Forum New York presents Architecture of Connection, a major monographic exhibition dedicated to the work of Dietmar Feichtinger Architectes, founded in Paris in 1994.
Through an international practice spanning bridges, transportation infrastructure, cultural and educational facilities, commercial buildings, and civic projects, we have developed an architectural approach grounded in structural clarity, technical precision, and a sustained engagement with public space. Our work explores architecture as a connective system, a spatial framework capable of linking people, places, and urban environments.
At the core of our practice lies a rigorous structural concept in which structure is not concealed, but articulated as the primary spatial and organizational framework. Construction systems and technical details remain visible and form an integral part of the architectural language. Architecture and engineering are conceived as a unified discipline, embedded in a coherent design methodology focused on accessibility, spatial legibility, and long-term performance.
The exhibition brings together models, drawings, films, and large-scale panoramic documentation of completed and ongoing projects. It highlights the close relationship between design and construction while emphasizing the inherently collaborative nature of the building process. By acknowledging the contributions of engineers, contractors, and clients, the exhibition situates architecture within a broader collective endeavor.
