At the heart of the Chantiers district in Versailles, the reconstruction of the Centre Huit accompanies the arrival of the future Line 18 of the Grand Paris Express and its new station opposite Versailles-Chantiers.
A cultural and religious center of the Protestant parish, the existing building, soon to be demolished, will be reborn in close proximity to its historic site. The Société du Grand Paris is committed to providing the Centre Huit with a new, lasting home that integrates its functions of welcome, support, and gathering, along with an underground parking facility.
Compact and filled with natural light, the project is organized around a large central patio — the true heart of the building. Public spaces, multipurpose halls, offices, and areas for social life interact with two private dwellings and their gardens.
With its glazed façades, terracotta cladding, and green roofs, the new Centre Huit combines transparency, simplicity, and environmental quality, while asserting its presence within the urban fabric of Versailles.
